Another Bobby Wygant Star Wars interview
Another Bobby Wygant interview has turned up, this one a 1980 piece arising from the Empire Strikes Back. (For an interesting, and oddly sexually-charged, Bobby Wygant interview with Harrison Ford from 1977, click here.)
There are some interesting references to George Lucas's plans for "nine space adventures" in this clip, i.e. three before and three after the original trilogy. For instance, Mark Hamill describes "the third Star Wars movie" (episode three) as featuring an eight-year-old Luke Skywalker. Wygant concludes, "If Lucas makes all nine episodes, the Force may be around until 2001."
An especially dated, and unintentionally humourous, part of the piece comes when Wygant introduces Billy Dee Williams' character, Lando Calrissian, with, "He's the only black among the major characters". She has almost nothing more to say about him.
