I came across Star Wars Remix today on Twitter, then later discovered that Boing Boing and Wired GeekDad have both picked up on the site. If you haven't visited yet, what are you waiting for? Here's what GeekDad had to say:
Star Wars Remix is a new blog devoted to found objects and DIY creations that take us to that far away galaxy. Founded by Emma Beddows and Scott Walker with help from Noach Scalin and Micah Scalin, the site will be updated twice a week with reader-submitted repurposed objects. Their focus is neither on fan art or on digital creations, but on “your world, remixed into the Star Wars world. The emphasis is on everyday objects. As in objects you come across…well, every day! They can be natural (rocks, clouds, leafs, mountains, sand, fields, etc.) or artificial (soup strainers, an automobile grill, a paper clip, a cardboard box, etc.).”
Pictured above is Scott Walker's "remix" of a corkboard in his office. It makes me thinks I should take a photo of the X-Wing I made out of paper clips while at work one day and send it over. It's been sitting on my desk for over a year now. It's pretty good, actually. There was a TIE Fighter for a while, too, but it crashed into an asteroid.
