Television Without Pity on the Phantom Menace

Another post to prepare you mentally for the pending re-release of the most disappointing film ever made.

Television Without Pity shares its thoughts about the Phantom Menace. The opening lines of this video may be the best. Omar G: "You like Star Wars, right?" Pablo G: "I guess. I'm not really sure anymore." My sentiments exactly. Follow the link for more.

Will Muschamp: What a guy!

I don't know who Will Muschamp is, some sort of athlete I suppose. Football player by the looks of him but I'm just guessing and I can't be bothered to Google it and find out.

I know all I need to know about him already thanks to this exchange during a press conference: he's awesome. Since when did it become legitimate to make prequel references in a public forum? Will's not having it. Way to go, Will.

Here's the transcript:

Reporter: Excuse the Star Wars reference, but you kind of have a master vs. padawan thing going on between you and Nick (Saban).

Muschamp: What's a padawan?

Reporter: You've never seen Star Wars?

Muschamp: Haaa?

Reporter: You guys ...

Muschamp: I watched Star Wars I and after that I watched "The Empire Strikes Back" and I ain't seen nothing after that.

Reporter: Well, uh ...

Muschamp: I don't know what a padawan is. You didn't call me a bad name, did you? I don't speak French either.

Reporter: You guys have a kind of master vs. student kind of thing going on. Is there any sentiment in that? I'm sure you learned a lot from Nick Saban.

Muschamp: Sure

Reporter: Can you talk a little bit about the sentiment of what your mindset is ...

Muschamp: My mindset's to do a great job for the Univerisity of Florida on Saturday.

I think I've just found a new motto for this blog: "I watched Star Wars I and after that I watched "The Empire Strikes Back" and I ain't seen nothing after that."

Former Canadian opposition leader watched ROTJ in his dying hours

The Globe and Mail reports that the former leader of Canada's official opposition, Jack Layton, watched Return of the Jedi shortly before dying of cancer in late August of this year:

As for his choice of movies, his long-time press secretary Karl Belanger said that Mr. Layton was “a big Star Wars fan, so it is quite fitting that he watched that movie.”
