IG-88 The Dancing Robot

I don't know how I haven't come across this before, and since it's been around a long time it may not be new to you but I'm posting it anyways. Thanks to @ratherchildish (he of the world's greatest web site) for calling it to attention in his recent post. Keep an eye out for the Holiday Special references around the 3:20 mark.

The film is by Anton Bogaty. Check out his blog, including this post with screenshots from the film, and his web site, which shows off more of his work.

Rather Childish celebrates Star Wars's 35th birthday

The world's greatest website observes the 35th anniversary of Star Wars with an especially nice shot (follow the link to see it in full size) and this tribute:

HAPPY THIRTY FIVE YEARS STAR WARS! You’ve managed to keep me fueled with awe, inspiration, and the joys of youth well beyond what you, I, or anyone could’ve expected. Incredible that here in 2012 I find myself handing you down to my children. I expect that they will do the same for their children one day as well. Thanks for all the memories. Keep the fire burning.

Rather Childish deconstructs a snowspeeder

The world's best web site has a short piece about tearing apart and reconstructing a Kenner Snowspeeder. From the post:

As is often the case with taking apart old toys, the exercise turned out to be much more about cleaning than actually fixing. After I finished removing the dust and grime I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful the parts looked. Clean, yes, but more than that the disassembled lot of parts almost seemed to come alive. Decades-old secrets finally revealed.

Easily Frightened: the latest from SWAFDWTDB

The latest post on Star Wars Action Figures Doing What They Do Best is really great. I love almost everything on this web site, but many of the photos are a bit dark. It's nice to see some brighter work.

If you haven't yet discovered SWAFDWTDB, get ready to lose at least half an hour of your day. Warning: this may be the best web site ever.
